As a former navy guy I can appreciate the saying, "We cannot control the wind but we can control the sails." We are definitely in times of uncertainty. The world's reality is that we are facing the COVID-19 pandemic together.

Life Force continues to improve upon our systems as we learn more about this pandemic to do our best to ensure everyone involved safety.

While thinking through scenarios, two questions came to mind.If I find myself in a hospital, who will make my health decisions if I cannot? If I am in a hospital, who will handle my finances?

I hope we all find ourselves home and safe but we must be prepared. These are very important questions that we should have answers to. A visit to the hospital does not have to be COVID-19 related, but you will follow the same procedures the hospitals have in place.

Life Force Live-in Caregivers recently started a case in Monmouth County, New Jersey for a man that was discharged from the hospital. His wife shared with us that he has not seen her husband for two months. He was admitted to the hospital with a completely unrelated issue to COVID-19. During his hospital stay his wife was not allowed to visit. This brings us back to our questions.

Life Force works with a variety of elder law attorneys and Bratton Law Group has agreed to help us in answering these questions. Life Force is co-sponsoring a virtual event with Bratton Law GroupArtis Senior Living of Evesham, and St. Mary's Villa. Please join us on a webinar called, "Estate Planning in the Midst of a Crisis."
